Scan by Here2Play privacy policy

This policy covers Scan by Here2Play, also known as Here2Play Scan, on Android and iOS. Scanned and imported documents, original images, edits, recognized text, document names and folders are saved on your device. The app has no account or scan-upload backend and does not send that document content to a Here2Play server.

Who is responsible

Here2Play is operated by Maarten Segers, Vande Vennestraat 24, 8550 Zwevegem, Belgium. Enterprise and VAT number: BE 0670.956.522. For support or privacy questions, contact .

Camera, imports and local recognition

Camera access is used for photos you take in the app. The system photo and document pickers let you choose imports. You control capture, crop approval, saving and export.

On Android, recognition uses the bundled Google ML Kit Latin-text model. On iOS, recognition uses Apple's Vision framework on device. The app processes document images and recognized text locally; it does not use a remote document-recognition service.

Google ML Kit technical information on Android

Google's ML Kit can send SDK technical information to Google, separate from your document images and recognized text. Google documents device and app details, per-installation identifiers, processing times, configuration and size information, feature events and error codes. Google uses metrics for diagnostics, usage analytics, maintaining and improving its APIs, and detecting misuse or abuse. The documented metrics are encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

Google handles these technical metrics under its own privacy terms. Removing a scan locally does not request removal of SDK metrics held by Google. See Google's ML Kit privacy terms, Android SDK data disclosure and privacy policy. The app does not offer a separate ML Kit metrics switch or add an advertising SDK.

Exporting, sharing and copying text

When you choose to export or share, the app provides the selected file to the location or recipient you choose. Copying recognized text puts it on the device clipboard. The receiving app, file provider or device may then process or retain that copy under its own terms. Deleting a document inside Scan by Here2Play does not remove copies you exported elsewhere.

Keeping and deleting documents

Saved documents remain in the local library until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Deleting a document removes its library entry and cleans up its owned files. Files still needed by another document or draft can remain. If file cleanup fails, the app reports the problem; removing an entry is not silently presented as complete file deletion.

Temporary export files can remain on the device so the chosen recipient can finish reading them. Later export preparations consider eligible export-cache files older than 24 hours for cleanup; this is not an exact 24-hour deletion timer. Exported or shared copies remain at their chosen destination until you remove them there.

Device backups and app stores

The Android build excludes its local library from the configured cloud-backup and device-transfer rules. The iOS library and recoverable scan drafts are marked as excluded from system backup. These app settings do not control copies you export to another location or that location's backup settings.

Export files you need before removing the app. PDF exports preserve the exported document, but do not restore editable original images and your local library organization. Apple and Google process app-store and platform information under their own terms; see Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

Studio links

When you select a studio link, it opens the Here2Play website in your browser. The link does not attach or upload your scan. The website and browser handle that visit under their own privacy practices.
